NAIA is the 5th worst airport in the world…and the worst in Asia! NAKAKAHIYA!!!

Worst Airports in the World | sleepinginairports.net.

Waiting shed at NAIA Terminal 1

NAIA Terminal 2 (for PAL/Air Philippines flights)

NAIA Terminal 3

(older terminal) “It has to be experienced to be believed. Think of a bombed out ruin and you’ll get some idea. It’s like a cattle yard only worse. Toilets filthy. No seating once you get thru customs (maybe 40 seats for a thousand passengers).” – Brenty

“Bribery and corruption in this airport is rife and the scams start the minute you walk off the plane” – Mecanix

“I went to catch my flight to Hong Kong which was leaving at 9.15am. I saw that the departure tax was 250 pesos. I had only 200 pesos change so I decided to cash a low-denomination traveller’s cheque. However, clerks at each of the three banks refused to do so, no reasons given. I sat down wondering how I was ever going to leave the airport and get out of that putrid city and meet my friends in Hong Kong. At 9am, they announced last call for my flight and then, and only then, did the clerks at the nearest bank offer to help me. ‘Sir’, they said.’We cash your cheque now.’ and they did, but I got only 50 of the normal exchange rate. Yes, 50! It was a take-it-or-leave-it experience. They knew damn well that if I refused their offer or stayed to argue for a while, I would have missed my flight. No wonder this country and its people have such a terrible reputation and they deserve it”- Denis

“…apart from the bloody airport. Terminal 1 needs to be demolished. It is filthy, too small and WAY past its prime. Lines are insanely long, and I was shocked that I had to pay an airport tax for such a shithole. There were no toilet seats OR RUNNING WATER in the bathrooms! A big bucket with a dipper was by the front door and about four attendants hassled me for a tip. When I asked a security guard where the smoking area was he told me to follow him…and took me out on to the tarmac (so much for security) where he then insisted on a bribe before he let me back into the terminal. How does one say “no” to a security guard with a gun?” – trustma

Nakakahiya naman…NAKAKAHIYA!  Just about the first impression that foreign visitors have to experience is the fact that the average Filipino is a money-grubbing hustler?
